  1. I have a bad boss story to share. I worked at a job where the manager encouraged employees to share new ideas. Each time I gave him a new idea, he presented it as if it was his idea. I was so upset! Eventually I ended up quitting the job, due to his crazy approach to new ideas.

  2. I had a boss that suggested that an employee’s spouse get a job that offers insurance for her and her family so the company would not have to cover his family

  5. I had a boss, that would, lets just say get slightly inebriated and just starting cursing everybody out, for the smallest of things. Then the next day its like it never happened.

  6. Here is a bad boss story I located.

    “I’ve had to share a hotel room with a colleague before. Besides the fact that she snored like an ox, the idea of sharing personal spaces as intimate as bedrooms and bathrooms with a work colleague is just …disturbing. But, the budget was tight and I got along pretty well with my colleague. But what if you had to share a hotel room with your boss? Who walked around in her thong underwear. And carried on conversations with you. While she was on the toilet.” That’s what happened to this woman as reported on the USA Travel website.

  8. “My office was flooded when a construction worker damaged the sprinkler system on the floor above. When the insurance came through, they paid more than was needed to cover the damage. To thank the staff for keeping our heads and helping during the crisis, my boss gave us each a gift certificate for a massage and dinner for two at an expensive restaurant. How many bosses would share a windfall with their staff like that? It is so nice to know that we are appreciated, not just with verbal “attaboys” but with something tangible too.”

  17. Four years ago I worked as a binder for SIU an insurance agency. The manager was so dark and evil that just to be around him you could feel the darkness coming off of him. You would think a person would feel some sort of sympathy for the man because he was deaf since he was a child but no. One day he didn’t come into work which was very unlike him, turns out his mother had died. This is how she died: One day she came home and discovered that she had locked herself out. She leaves her dog in the car and goes around the back to open an unlocked window. She decides to climb her sixty five year old self into the house. She gets half way in when, slam! The window shuts down on her. She remains there till two days later they found her body still there in the window! Her dog died of suffocation in the truck which was left in 95 degree weather. Immediately everyone knew he had done it. Because one, he was suspiciously gone for a week before her death and two, when he did come back he was in the best mood we had ever seen! He was humming and singing even though he was completely tone deaf! People he knew for years suspected he had did her in. No one was ever as bad or could ever be as horrible as that man.

    1. OMG ! Like you mentioned – One would want to feel sorry for him, but he let his personal life spill over into his professional life.

    1. Your story is a very interesting one. I can relate. Many managers believe they can manage due to seniority or formal education. In balancing business needs and employee issues it takes a very strong person to be an effective manager.

      Many times people think they are the only one going through a situation and one of the main objectives I want to establish is that there are others that experience similar situations.

  22. I do not have a boss that I have anything nice to say about. If I meet a boss that I can actually “like”…..I’m going to do everything I can to keep that position! I enjoyed reading the comments. They were very entertaining!

    1. There should be a training course that must be passed in order to become a manager.

      After reading all the comments I may need to write a training program… LOL !!
